It is important for pregnant women to be more careful than usual about what they put into their bodies. Here were some good food for mothers and babies, and some substances that should be avoided.

proper nutrition is very important for everyone, but especially for pregnant women, where women must eat to maintain both himself as well and baby grow.
Here were some Dos and Don'ts when it comes to what a pregnant woman should be put into their bodies to ensure a happy birth.
Turkey berry is a very nutrient rich plant iron and helps in the treatment of anemia.
It helps in the production of new red blood cells to increase hemoglobin levels of pregnant women who may have a low hemoglobin. It is supposed to be eaten raw and not cooked. It is grown locally in Ghana and is available in most of the national market place.
Examples of foods in this group include wheat, oats, and beans. Nuts and seeds have lots of vitamins and minerals needed by the body for various functions.
They are a great source of iron, folate, calcium, and zinc. Folate, for example, assist in the prevention of neurological disorders in infants such as Spinal Bifida. As a result, pregnant women who eat a lot of nuts and seeds provide a healthy baby and sound.
Sweet potatoes contain high levels of vitamins A and C as well as iron and fiber. Vitamin A improves eyesight. A pregnant woman should consume about 700 micrograms of vitamin A per day. Consuming 1 cup cooked sweet potato with the skin provides about 1,922 micrograms of vitamin A.
Dietary fiber helps in free bowel movement. Constipation in pregnancy is very common so take foods rich in dietary fiber can help prevent constipation
Vitamin C is required in the diet of every pregnant woman. This is because Vitamin C helps in the absorption of iron, repair worn out tissues and also boost the immune system.
Iron is essential in the production of hemoglobin for both mother and baby during pregnancy. It also helps in the transfer of oxygen to the growing baby. Consuming sweet potato baked in its skin will provide half the recommended daily amount of vitamin C, while a cup of sweet potato would provide 1.38 mg of iron.
When alcohol is taken by pregnant women, it goes straight into the blood stream through the placenta to the fetus. Its effects include miscarriage, still give birth and lifelong condition known as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. syndrome
Fetal Alcohol characterized by poor growth, facial abnormalities, and damage to the central nervous system of children. Alcohol is considered a depressant because it slows down vital functions and cause slurred speech, unsteady movement, reducing the ability to think (interfering with one's sense of judgment).

Coffee contains caffeine which is known unhealthy when taken in excess. Coffee and other products containing caffeine deplete minerals and nutrients in the food.
The acidity of coffee causes poor absorption of nutrients in food that has been taken inside that can cause anemia, miscarriage, low birth weight, urinary disturbance and possible damage to the baby's heart.
